BSSS celebrates National Science Day with focus on women in science

Bhopal: The Bhopal School of Social Sciences celebrated National Science Day 2026 with great enthusiasm, supported financially by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST). The event highlighted this year’s theme, “Women in Science: Fostering a Developed India,” underscoring the vital role of women scientists in nation-building.

Dr. Pallavi Choubey from CSS, Bhopal, delivered the first lecture titled “Breaking Barriers, Building Nations: Women in Indian Science and Technology.” She highlighted the achievements and contributions of women in STEM fields and encouraged students to pursue scientific excellence. The second lecture by Dr. Ishu Saraogi of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal focused on “Science Beyond the Syllabus,” inspiring students to embrace curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and innovation beyond textbooks.

A poster competition on “Science and Sustainable Energy: Powering a Self-Reliant India” showcased creative ideas on renewable energy and green technology.

Principal Dr. Father John P.J. emphasized that empowering women in science and promoting sustainable innovation are crucial for achieving a developed India. The program concluded with certificate distribution and a vote of thanks.
