Book of Retd PCCF SR Rawat ‘Ek Forest Officer Ki Diary’ Released: Deputy CM Lauds Life Journeys Forged in Experience

Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla stated that the life accounts of individuals tempered by experience serve as invaluable guides for all. He made the remarks while launching ‘Ek Forest Officer Ki Diary’ (A Forest Officer’s Diary), a book authored by retired Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) S. R. Rawat. The Deputy CM emphasized that the book’s anecdotes offer readers crucial lessons on public life, teamwork, planned work ethic, and ideal leadership. For forest personnel, it presents an ideal of conduct and inspires the due discharge of their duties. He underscored the book’s core message: true life essence lies in living for others. Shukla praised Shri Rawat’s endeavor, noting that at the age of 93, the author successfully brings to life the administrative, social, and natural landscape of fifty years ago.

The 93-year-old author S.R. Rawat shared that his book will be particularly beneficial for forest trainees and proves equally fascinating for general readers, connecting them deeply with nature. The diary captures memorable experiences from numerous wildlife sanctuaries and National Parks, including Bori, Satpura, Kanha, Pench, and Kanker Valley. Shri Rawat mentioned the book’s unique appeal also lies in its rare, years-old photographs and descriptions of spiritual and natural havens like Amarkantak and Chitrakoot. PCCF and Head of Forest Force, V K Ambade, added that Shri Rawat’s documented experiences would help strengthen and refine the Forest Department’s current operations.
