Mandya, Mar 12 (UNI) A bomb threat email sent to the district court in Mandya on Thursday triggered an urgent security response, law enforcement officials said.
Police said the threatening email was received on the judge’s official email address earlier in the day, prompting authorities to immediately suspend court proceedings. Judges, lawyers, court staff, and litigants were evacuated from the Mandya court complex as a precautionary measure.
Senior police officers, accompanied by bomb disposal squad personnel and fire brigade teams, conducted a thorough on‑site inspection of the entire judiciary complex and its surrounding areas to rule out any danger.
After an extensive search, officials found no explosive devices or suspicious objects within the premises, and initial assessments indicate the email threat was a hoax.
Law enforcement has registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the source of the email and identify those responsible for sending the threat.
This incident comes against the backdrop of similar bomb threat emails recently received by courts and other institutions in different parts of the country, underscoring the challenges faced by authorities in dealing with anonymous digital threats.
