Lucknow, Feb 22 (UNI) Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was in the city of Nawabs on Sunday to launch ‘Zero Net Sarojininagar 2040″ programmee of BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh in his Sarojini Nagar assembly segment.
Sanjay Dutt addressed the youth in Mumbai style, “Hey, Mamu (Uncle), listen. There are as many Uncles standing here, right? Listen to everything. But do two things in life. One, plant a tree, and the other, save water. If you don’t do this, then you’ll have to kill yourself.”
Sanjay Dutt had unsuccessfully contested from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat in 2009 general elections on Samajwadi Party ticket but lost against BJP’s Lalji Tandon.
Sanjay Dutt came to Lucknow at the invitation of Sarojini Nagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh. He honored environmentalists in Bangla Bazaar, Ashiana.
A Net Zero programme was organized for this purpose. Sanjay Dutt led a one-kilometre roadshow to reach the venue. MLA Rajeshwar Singh was also present with him during the event.
Rajeshwar Singh in a tweet on Sunday wrote, “Delighted to have popular Bollywood actor Shri @duttsanjay ji with us for the launch of Net Zero Sarojini Nagar 2040.”
As soon as Sanjay Dutt boarded an open jeep for the roadshow, fans went wild. The police had a tough time controlling them. People showered flowers all the way on Sanjay Dutt. Fans also showered him with rose petals from rooftops. Sanjay Dutt waved and accepted everyone’s greetings.
Later, the actor addressed the youth from the stage on environment conservation, preserving trees.
On the occassion MLA Rajeshwar Singh promoted the film ‘Dhurandhar-2’ by calling Sanjay as “Bhaiyya”.
Yesterday, Sanjay Dutt shared a photo of himself with Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on his Instagram account. He captioned it: “I will be delighted to be back in my favorite city, Lucknow, for a special environmental conservation program with Rajeshwar Bhaiya in Sarojini Nagar. Lucknow and its wonderful people have always showered me with immense love and affection. This relationship is very close to my heart. I can’t wait to meet you all tomorrow.”
