Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) Bollywood actor Imran Hashmi turned 46 on Monday.
Imran began his career in the film industry as an assistant director in Vikram Bhatt’s 2002 film ‘Raaz’. He made his acting debut in the 2003 film ‘Footpath’, which did not do well at the box office but earned him critical acclaim.
Imran’s breakthrough role came in the 2004 film ‘Murder’, opposite Mallika Sherawat. The film was a huge success and established Imran as the ‘Kissing King’ of Bollywood. Since then, Imran has appeared in several films, including ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ (2005), which also starred Tanushree Dutta.
Born on March 24, 1979, Imran is the nephew of renowned filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. His father Anwar Hashmi was also an actor, who worked in the film ‘Baharon Ki Manzil’. Imran’s mother Maherah Hashmi worked for a multinational company.
Imran’s grandmother Purnima was a popular actress in the 1940s.
