BMHRC initiative highlights father’s fole in family health

Bhopal: The Bhopal Memorial Hospital & Research Centre (BMHRC) is challenging traditional roles through its “Healthy Woman, Empowered Family” campaign, with a special focus on the crucial part fathers play in family well-being. On the fifth day of the campaign’s “Seva Pakhwada” (Service Fortnight), the hospital held a comprehensive awareness program on the “Role of Fathers in Nutrition and Care.”

According to officiating director Dr. Manisha Srivastava, the initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, aims to empower the entire family. The program included discussions on nutrition and care, emphasizing that men are equally responsible for ensuring the family’s health. General health check-ups were also provided for men at all eight of the hospital’s health centers.

In addition to the main event, BMHRC launched a special “Drishti Rath” (Vision Chariot) to offer free eye care services in rural areas. The mobile clinic, flagged off by Dr. Srivastava, visited the villages of Arvalia and Parvalia, providing free screenings and treatment for conditions like cataracts and glaucoma.

The service fortnight also featured a free Hepatitis-B vaccination camp organized by the hospital’s Blood Bank and Gastroenterology Department, where experts provided vital information on the disease’s symptoms and prevention.
