BMC shuts down illegal meat shops

Bhopal: The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is maintaining its relentless campaign against establishments selling meat and mutton without proper licenses across the city. In the latest action, BMC teams from Zone 20 closed down five illegal shops in Ward 02, near the airport in areas like C.T.O. and Bairagarh.

Under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, the BMC’s Health Department is continuously inspecting meat and mutton shops and verifying their licenses. On Friday, enforcement teams from Zone 20 conducted inspections in Ward 02, specifically targeting shops in C.T.O. and Bairagarh areas. As a result, five illegally operating meat and mutton shops were ordered to close.

The operation was carried out by the Assistant Health Officer, Assistant Anti-Encroachment Officer, Ward In-charge, and other personnel from BMC Zone 20. This ongoing effort underscores the corporation’s commitment to ensuring legal and hygienic practices in meat sales within the city.
