BJP will fall before 2029, claims Mamata in Nadia rally

Kolkata, Dec 11 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday predicted that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre would not last its full term up to 2029, and without naming, she launched a scathing attack against union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying his eyes are very dangerous.

Addressing an open rally in Nadia district headquarters, Krishna Nagar, Banerjee vouched that the present Central government headed by the BJP would be bound to collapse before 2029 owing to its alleged threat culture against the opponents and burgeoning dictatorship to end the federal structure.

She said, “The BJP loots votes and spells ‘jhoot’ (lies) and but this too would not help the party to last up to 2029 in New Delhi, predicting collapse.”

Banerjee also alleged that the BJP claimed to delete 1.5 crore names from the voter lists by influencing the poll panel.

Without naming Amit Shah, TMC supremo said his eyes were very dangerous and see “Durjadhon” from one of his eyes and “Dushason” from another eye.

She said there was a move to delete some 1.5 crore voters’ names and urged the women to come forward to protest such a move by the top poll panel.

“Mothers and sisters should be in front and the males to be their back while protesting the attempt to delete the name of the voters,” Banerjee said, adding, “We will not allow it to be a Bihar.”

“Bihar could not do it, but Bengal can do it,” Banerjee said in reference to the deletion of voters’ names during Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on enumeration of the electoral rolls in the state.

She also assured the people that no one will be allowed to delete the name of the voters in the SIR and vowed not to allow the NRC or settling in the detention camps in the state.

She said if the BJP came to power, then Bengal would be destroyed and called upon the people to defeat the saffron brigade.

“The BJP is hungry for power and trying to grab the power in West Bengal by hook or crook and can not hear anything because it has no ears,” the TMC chairperson said.

Banerjee also strongly criticised the BJP for its Gita path in the open air on December 7 at Brigade Parade Ground and wondered if such a sacred book recitation needs to be shown in public.

“I want to ask those who keep chanting ‘Gita’- what did Shri Krishna say about dharma? Dharma means to uphold, not to divide. They want to destroy West Bengal by dividing the people on religious grounds,” the CM said.

“I am not communal, and I preach secularism and love all the faiths,” the TMC leader said.

She reiterated the deprivation of the BJP government at the centre towards West Bengal by stopping its due share of Rs 1 lakh 79,000 crore so far for various schemes like 100 days work.
