- Susner Municipality President joins Congress
Bhopal: In a significant political blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh, Susner Municipality President Lakshmi Sisodiya has defected to the Congress party. Her move was followed by a wave of BJP workers who also switched their allegiance, further weakening the ruling party’s presence in Agar Malwa.
The high-profile defection took place in Bhopal, where Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief Jitu Patwari formally inducted Sisodiya and the other workers into the party. The transition was orchestrated under the leadership of Susner MLA Bhairo Singh Bapu.
Following the induction, Patwari extended a warm welcome to Sisodiya, stating that her decision marks the beginning of a “democratic battle” for the region. “We will serve Susner with a focus on prioritizing public welfare,” Patwari affirmed, signaling a renewed push by the Congress to gain ground in key municipal areas. This latest development is expected to have a ripple effect on local politics and serve as a major morale boost for the Congress party ahead of upcoming elections.
