BJP slams Raj Thackeray over “fake narrative,” compares him to Rahul Gandhi

Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today hit out at Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, alleging that he is competing with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in “spreading fake narratives.”

The party claimed that both the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the MNS displayed “a new level of dishonesty” during the recent Satyacha Morcha (March for Truth).

BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye accused Raj Thackeray of making two false statements during the march and elaborated on them in a social media post.

Upadhye said Thackeray had falsely alleged that 130 voters were registered at the address of the Navi Mumbai Commissioner’s bungalow. He clarified that the District Collector had already explained the matter, stating that the bungalow was used only as a landmark for voter registration and that the listed voters belonged to the surrounding area, not the bungalow itself.
Upadhye further referred to Thackeray’s speech at Worli Dome six months ago, where the MNS chief had claimed that party candidate Raju Patil received zero votes in his own village of 1,400 registered voters. In reality, Upadhye said, Patil had secured a majority of votes there during the election.

“The alliance between the defeated and Raj Thackeray is understandable, but relying on fake narratives for political gain will backfire. The public will ultimately brand you as fake,” Upadhye warned the MVA and Raj Thackeray.
