New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) The Congress on Wednesday accused the BJP of “secretly awarding solar project to Adani” by “compromising national security and disregarding senior military officers’ concern”.
On social media handle X, party general secretary KC Venugopal said the Modi government’s priority is “Securing India’s borders, Filling Adani’s coffers”.
“The Modi government’s cronyism is a threat to our national security. Allowing India’s largest solar project to be constructed hardly 1 km away from the Pakistan border is extremely dangerous and goes against all established military norms,” Venugopal alleged.
Calling it as “shocking”, Venugopal alleged, “The BJP-run Gujarat Government and the Centre held secret meetings to convince and steamroll military officials to award the project to Adani. Disregarding senior military officers, they not only made an exception for this project, but for all potential ventures across India’s borders with all other countries”.
He demanded an explanation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as to “why such a drastic step to compromise our national security was taken”.
