BJP reduced to alliance of factions in MP: Congress

By Special Correspondent

Bhopal: Congress spokesperson Rahul Raj has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh has ceased to function as a cohesive political organisation and has instead turned into an alliance of competing factions. In a press release, he claimed that the ruling party in the state is divided into several internal camps, each operating with its own interests, reflecting deepening internal discord.

Rahul Raj said the infighting within the party has now begun to surface openly. He alleged that certain senior ministers who are reportedly not on good terms with the present leadership may be asked to resign and subsequently sent to Delhi through the Rajya Sabha route.

He further claimed that individuals once associated with horse-trading politics are now themselves aspiring for seats in the Upper House. According to him, bargaining and political deals have increasingly become the defining features of the ruling party’s functioning in the state.

He added that the Congress decides Rajya Sabha nominations through organisational and democratic processes.
