Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) Union Coal and Mines Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy stated that the BJP is the only political party in the country that conducts regular membership registrations.
Speaking at the launch of the party’s membership drive at a private hotel on Sunday, Reddy emphasized that everyone, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to BJP National President JP Nadda and even polling booth agents, has committed to renewing their membership.
Reddy highlighted that the BJP is unique in holding democratic restructuring of party committees every three years and is a party driven by principles. He remarked that all those joining the BJP do so voluntarily, unlike other parties, which offer insurance to entice members. He assured that the BJP has no intention of deceiving anyone for the sake of increasing membership.
He further underscored the sacrifices made by BJP leaders and workers over the years, especially in challenging times. “BJP leaders have stood strong in the face of terrorists and extremists,” Reddy said. He also recalled the party’s role in safeguarding democracy during the 1975 Emergency, when Jana Sangh leaders joined the Janata Party to protect democratic values.
The BJP, which once won only two seats in Parliament, is now in power for the third consecutive term, thanks to the dedication of its workers and the support of the people, Reddy noted.
He called on party workers to actively contribute to expanding membership, with each worker aiming to bring at least 100 new members into the fold. He also reminded attendees that the BJP secured over 36 percent of the votes in the last parliamentary elections, reflecting the strong support from the people of Telangana for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Reddy urged party workers to carry out the membership drive at polling booth levels and complete the registration process within the stipulated timeline.
