New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy has won the election for the post of Secretary (Administration), Constitution Club of India, securing more votes than his party colleague and another contender Dr. Sanjeev Balyan.
Speaking on the win, Rudy said that it is his panel’s victory, adding that he won with a margin of over a 100 votes.
He expressed happiness that the members of his panel had also won, who come from different parties.
Other than Rudy, other office bearers include Secretary (Culture) Tiruchi Siva, who was declared elected unopposed on July 10, Rajiv Shukla, Secretary (Sports) also declared elected unopposed.
While addressing the reporters, Rudy shared that a total of 707 votes were polled, while he secured 391 out of them.
The contest between Rudy and Balyan witnessed intense campaigning. Parliamentarians from different parties visited the club to cast their votes.
Rudy, a former Union Minister, has served as the Secretary (Administration) of the CCI for over two decades. He has been credited with revamping the club of the parliamentarians and also former MPs, during his tenure.
There are eleven executive members that include Naresh Agarwal, Prasun Banerjee, Shrirang Appa Barne, Kalikesh N. Singh Deo, Pradeep Gandhi, Jasbir Singh Gill, Deepender Singh Hooda, Naveen Jindal, N K Premchandran, Pradip Kumar Verma and Akshay Yadav, as per the CCI notice.
CCI has emerged as an effective forum, providing a platform for interaction amongst the former and present MPs.
