- Farmer Crushed by Thar, Daughters Assaulted
Bhopal, A chilling incident of alleged land-grab related murder has plunged GaneshPura village in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district into fear and grief. Local BJP leader Mahendra Nagar, a current booth president and former Kisan Morcha official, stands accused of the ruthless murder of farmer Ramswaroop Dhakad over a land dispute. The victim’s daughter recounted the horror, stating that Mahendra Nagar and his armed accomplices attacked her parents on their way to the field, brutally beat her father, and then ran him over with a Thar jeep.
= Hours of Intimidation and Hooliganism
The brutality extended to Ramswaroop’s family. When his daughters rushed to save him, they were allegedly dragged, beaten, and had their clothes torn in a chilling display of intimidation. Villagers claim the armed group held the severely injured farmer’s body hostage for nearly an hour, preventing anyone from providing medical aid. Ramswaroop succumbed to his injuries, which included multiple fractures, shortly after finally reaching the Guna District Hospital. The tragic incident underscores the climate of terror allegedly perpetuated by the BJP leader and his gang, forcing the victim to pay the ultimate price for refusing to yield his land.
= High-Profile Connections and Party Expulsion
The police have registered a case against Mahendra Nagar, his associates, and three women—a total of 14 people—under charges including murder, conspiracy, and outraging the modesty of women. SDOP Vivek Asthana confirmed that the victim had suffered severe injuries from the beating and being run over by a vehicle. While the accused held a position within the BJP hierarchy, District President Dharmendra Sikarwar confirmed his party affiliation and stated that a recommendation for his immediate expulsion has been sent to senior leadership. This swift move acknowledges the severity of the alleged crimes committed by the party functionary.
