New Delhi, Jan 27 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Monday levelled serious allegations against the BJP, claiming that the party is conspiring to disrupt Delhi’s water supply by releasing ammonia-laden toxic water into the Yamuna River from Haryana.
“BJP is resorting to disgraceful tactics in its frustration over its expected historic defeat in the upcoming Assembly election,” Atishi said while briefing the media.
“The Haryana BJP government is releasing ammonia-laden toxic water into the Yamuna River to disrupt water supply in Delhi,” she added.
“The BJP is having the Haryana government release toxic water into the Yamuna River. The water contains so much ammonia that three of Delhi’s water treatment plants are on the verge of shutting down. Thirty percent of Delhi’s population will be deprived of water. In Hinduism, stopping the flow of water is the biggest sin.
The people of Delhi will give the BJP an answer for this sin on February 5,” she said.
In this regard, Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have written to the Election Commission, urging immediate intervention.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, “The country has never seen such dirty politics before. If the people of Delhi are not voting for the BJP, are they planning to kill them by poisoning the water?”
“The Haryana BJP government is sending poisoned water to Delhi,” he alleged, adding that I want to assure the people of Delhi that as long as Kejriwal is here, no harm will come to them. BJP, don’t stoop so low.
