New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Friday congratulated the Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led government in the national capital on completing one successful year in office, adding that the biggest achievement of the dispensation has been the strong sense of responsibility and accountability to people’s issues. He hoped that the government continue to move on that path in coming days.
Addressing the media here, the BJP Delhi chief said that the people of Delhi had resolved to elect a responsible regime, which could put the city on the path of progress, with the resolve being fulfilled on February 8 last year.
Sachdeva said alleged that over the past three decades, the Congress and Arvind Kejriwal governments had completely crippled the city, especially referring to the city’s sewer system and other issues.
According to the BJP leader, in colonies like Kirari, scams were committed in laying and cleaning sewer lines, due to which even light rainfall would lead to waterlogging.
However, he said that the BJP government had acted quickly after coming to power, and the changes were visible during the last monsoon, with no waterlogging issues in the area.
He further hit out at the previous AAP government, alleging that during the 11 years of the Kejriwal’s regime, Delhi’s public transport system went for a toss, and had been crippled, whereas now, within a year, the BJP government has provided nearly 1,000 new electric buses to the people of Delhi.
Sachdeva said that Rekha Gupta government has done a lot for poor, with schemes like the Atal Canteens, which are now 71 in total in just a year, and poised to cross 150 mark soon, providing nutritious meals at Rs 5 to thousands every day.
Similarly, he mentioned that the government implemented the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna, which is providing assistance to poor for medical treatment.
Responding to AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s criticism of the government, Delhi BJP president said that the people of Delhi have been wondering and asking for Sisodia’s whereabouts for the last one year, as he was nowhere to be seen in the national capital since BJP came to power.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, and the media relations head Vikram Mittal also congratulated the CM Rekha Gupta regime.
