BJP dominates MP Urban By-Polls, secures 6 of 9 seats

Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has showcased a strong performance in the recent by-elections for nine urban local body wards across Madhya Pradesh, clinching victory on six seats. The Congress, in contrast, managed to secure only three seats, as results were officially declared by the State Election Commission on Wednesday. Winning candidates have been presented with their certificates.

A notable achievement for the BJP came from Panna district, where Hiralal Adivasi of the BJP was declared unopposed winner from Ward No. 13 of Kakarhati urban body, marking a significant early success for the party.

Further bolstering the BJP’s tally, Shaista Sultan emerged victorious from Ward 7 in Berasia (Bhopal urban body). In Chhindwara, Nikita Barkhe of the BJP secured the Newton Chikli seat in Ward 04.

The Congress’s three victories were registered by Janki Bai Dhurve from Bichhia in Mandla, Shashidhar Tripathi from Khand in Shahdol, and Haseena from Sanwer in Indore.

State Election Commission Secretary Abhishek Singh confirmed that all results have been formally announced following peaceful polling. The outcome underscores the BJP’s continued strong presence in Madhya Pradesh’s urban electoral landscape.
