- Salary hike orders issued
Bhopal, Wednesday brought double joy for contract employees of the Madhya Pradesh Poultry Development Corporation. Alongside news of India’s airstrike on Pakistan, employees were elated to receive official orders approving their long-awaited salary hike.
In celebration, employees visited Animal Husbandry Minister Lakhan Patel’s residence, offered him sweets, and expressed their gratitude.
The contract workers had been on an indefinite strike for 33 days, led by Ramesh Rathore, State President of the Contract Employees Federation, demanding implementation of the 2023 Contract Policy. On May 4, a delegation met Minister Patel, who assured swift action. Following his assurance, the strike was called off.
On May 6, the corporation’s Managing Director formally issued the salary hike orders, based on guidance from the General Administration and Finance Departments under the July 22, 2023 policy. Minister Patel approved the proposal a day earlier.
The revised pay scale brings notable benefits: Assistant Grade-3 salaries have increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,300, Attendants from Rs 12,000 to Rs 16,000, and Lab Technicians from Rs 15,000 to Rs 22,000—a hike of Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 depending on position.
Celebrating the moment, employees called it a “day of double victory”—one for the nation and one for their livelihood.
