Electricity is also a big problem among many other problems in Bhopal. Which is going to end by December this year. Because, Bhopal is now going to become the first such city in the state.

Where five gas insulated (GIS) stations of electricity will be ready. With their construction, continuous electricity will be supplied to about 10 lakh population of Bhopal. Not only this, the problem of voltage fluctuation will also be reduced by 90 percent. Let us tell you, sulfur hexafluoride (SF 6) gas is present in the gas chamber built in these substations. This is the reason that all the equipment in them is considered safe. These are also called maintenance free substations. According to Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company, currently in Bhopal, there is one 132 kV capacity and 2 GIS substations of 33/11 capacity under the purview of the transmission company. This year one more sub station of 33/11 KV capacity and one more sub station of 132 KV capacity will be started.

These will be the benefits

–       1/4th less space is required for construction
–       Very less maintenance is required
–       Equipment is kept in gas chamber due to which its capacity increases
–       Remote operation (unmanned operation) is possible
–       Due to close monitoring power is supplied without any interruption.
–       Equipment remains safe in all weathers be it rain, summer or winter due to which faults are reduced.
–       Gas absorbs sparking due to which chances of equipment getting damaged are reduced by 90%.
