Bhopal: The city is all set to celebrate Navratri with grand enthusiasm, devotion, and vibrant cultural expression. On Monday, the first day of the nine-day festival, the city transformed into a hub of festivity as pandals (temporary temples) sprung up across neighborhoods, each decorated with unique themes reflecting the region’s rich heritage.
A grand Devi Pratima procession near Mata Mandir marked the beginning of the celebrations, as streets came alive with chanting, devotional songs, and colorful decorations. Families, children, and entire communities gathered to welcome the goddess, creating an atmosphere filled with faith and festivity.
The area around Mata Mandir has become a spiritual center, buzzing with energy as rituals, prayers, and devotional activities begin in full swing. Residents say the first day sets the tone for the coming days of devotion and celebration.
In Nehru Nagar, the Karunadham Ashram stood out as a spiritual beacon. This year, hundreds of devotees gathered to welcome ‘Badi Amma’ with a grand procession that began at Platinum Plaza Chauraha. The streets were lined with people waving flowers and offering sweets, while traditional music and chants created an uplifting spiritual ambiance.
Devotees from nearby localities continued to flock to the ashram and pandals, seeking blessings and participating in rituals. The celebration blends spiritual fervor with cultural richness, offering moments of joy, reflection, and community bonding.
The nine-day festival will culminate with Dussehra, marked by the symbolic burning of Ravana’s effigies, bringing to a close one of the most vibrant and spiritually significant celebrations in Bhopal’s festive calendar.
