Bhopal to host special event on World Social Media Day 

Bhopal: Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS), Bhopal, in collaboration with UNICEF Bhopal and co-organizer Akashvani Bhopal Center, is set to host a special program on the occasion of World Social Media Day on June 30, 2025. The event will take place at 3:00 PM in the Shailka Kendra auditorium within the museum premises.

The primary objective of the event is to initiate a meaningful discussion on the social, technical, and cultural roles of social media in modern society. The program will feature prominent social media experts, influencers, digital innovators, and content creators from Bhopal, who will share insights on how social media serves as a powerful tool for public awareness, child rights, education, health, nutrition, and the promotion of cultural heritage.

Key highlights of the program include a screening of the museum’s introductory film, a special presentation by UNICEF, expert talks on digital ethics, fake news, and responsible communication, and a guided visit to the prehistoric rock art shelter within the museum to connect participants with ancient communication traditions.

Distinguished speakers include Dr. Anil Gulati (UNICEF), Dr. Rajesh Bhatt (Akashvani), Ms. Shivani Rajput (Social Media Specialist), Ms. Pushpa Awasthi (Nutrition Specialist), and Prof. Amitabh Pandey (Director, IGRMS).

According to Public Relations Officer Mr. Hemant Bahadur Singh Parihar, “This event is not just a celebration but a vital platform for dialogue on how digital tools like social media can be used to advance traditional values and heritage.”
