Bhopal Railway Division hits Rs 470 crore revenue milestone

Bhopal: The West Central Railway (WCR) Bhopal Division has reported impressive financial performance, generating originating revenue of Rs 470.8 crore from freight traffic over the first eight months of the current fiscal year (April to November).

Under the leadership of DRM Pankaj Tyagi and his team, the division handled a substantial 4.12 million tonnes of freight during this period. The trend of consistent growth highlights the division’s strategic importance in regional logistics.
The month of November alone contributed significantly to this total, with the division handling 0.65 million tonnes of goods across 11,811 freight wagons. This single-month performance resulted in a robust revenue of Rs 75.76 crore. The Bhopal Division remains committed to continuous efforts to further enhance and streamline its freight traffic operations in the coming months.

Low demand forces cancellation of Charalapalli-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special Train
Bhopal: Railway authorities have decided to cancel the weekly special train service, 07021/22 Charalapalli-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Charalapalli, until further notice due to consistently low passenger occupancy.
The service will be suspended starting December 8, 2025, from Charalapalli and December 10, 2025, from Hazrat Nizamuddin. This special train operated via several stations in the Bhopal Division, including Itarsi, Bhopal, and Bina. Passengers are advised to note this cancellation while planning their journeys and to check the official Indian Railways website or app for alternative routes. Information regarding the resumption of the service will be announced in due course.
