Bhopal: The Carriage Repair Workshop (CRWS) of West Central Railway (WCR) in Bhopal has demonstrated remarkable efficiency by successfully completing the Periodic Overhauling (POH) of 705 coaches during the first seven months (April to October 2025) of the current financial year.
The Bhopal workshop’s strong performance is well ahead of targets set by the Railway Board, with an impressive 94 coaches undergoing POH in October alone. This success is attributed to dedicated teamwork and meticulously planned operations, overseen by senior management.
During POH, the workshop ensures maximum operational safety by carrying out essential maintenance on crucial components. This includes:
* Repairing coach bodies and under gear.
* Restoring vital trolley and bogie parts.
* Maintaining wheels, axles, air brake systems, and buffers to guarantee a jerk-free and safe travel experience for passengers.
The achievement underscores the CRWS Bhopal’s commitment to enhancing safety and reliability across the WCR network.
