Bhopal Rail Division Nets Rs 26.7 crore from ticket checking crackdown

  • Over 4 lakh cases registered

Bhopal: The West Central Railway (WCR) Bhopal Division has reported a massive surge in revenue generated from ticket checking, collecting over Rs 26.70 crore in fines and excess fares during the first eight months of the current financial year (April to November 2025).

Under the guidance of DRM Pankaj Tyagi, the division registered a staggering total of 4.16 lakh cases against passengers traveling without proper tickets, with irregular tickets, or with unbooked luggage. This highlights the effectiveness of the sustained, timely drives conducted at stations and on passenger trains.

The performance in November 2025 alone was substantial, with ticket inspectors detecting 52,560 cases and collecting Rs 3.42 crore in penalties. The Commercial Department and the RPF are coordinating these ongoing campaigns with the objective of ensuring safe and orderly travel for all genuine passengers. The Railway Administration strongly urges all passengers to purchase proper tickets before boarding to avoid inconvenience and penalties.
