- Recover Rs 280000 worth stolen gold
Bhopal – In a significant crackdown, Kohefiza police have arrested a notorious chain-snatching gang responsible for a surge in street robberies across the area. Shockingly, the culprits, including a woman and a minor, would pawn their ill-gotten gains, with police recovering stolen gold chains worth Rs 280,000 from Muthoot Finance.
These brazen thieves specifically targeted women walking in secluded areas and colonies. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammed Yusuf alias Bhopali (21), Nadeem Khan (19), Ayesha B, and a juvenile.
According to Kohefiza Police Station In-charge Krishna Gopal Shukla, the gang meticulously reconnoitered their female victims before striking. Two recent incidents spurred the police action: an FIR from Ram Bansal, whose wife had her gold chain snatched while walking in Green Acre Colony, and another on July 2, 2025, where three unknown motorcyclists snatched a chain from Rimjhim Saxena near Jai Mata Kirana store.
Based on victim descriptions and extensive CCTV footage, police sketches led to the apprehension of Mohammed Yusuf and Nadeem. All accused have been presented in court and subsequently sent to jail.
