Children below 5 years of age will be immunized at 2500 booths
Bhopal: The city is set to administer the “two drops of life” on Sunday, October 12 as part of the National Pulse Polio campaign. The campaign aims to immunize 3.5 lakh children under the age of five across 2,500 designated booths.
The drive was finalized during a high-level Task Force meeting chaired by Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, who directed officials to ensure 100% vaccination coverage. Attendees included CEO District Panchayat Mrs. Ila Tiwari, CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma, representatives from private and government medical colleges, the Women and Child Development Department, and partner organizations like the WHO and Rotary Club.
Mrs. Tiwari stressed the need for intensified publicity through Anganwadi workers and directed the setup of a control room for continuous monitoring. The Collector appealed to all parents to bring their children to the nearest booth on the first day to maintain the city’s strong defense against polio. The inter-departmental collaboration seeks to achieve maximum outreach and protect every child in the capital.
