Bhopal Girls Shine as Runners-Up in State Kho-Kho Finals: Star Player Soumya Nahar Drives Division to Success

Sarangpur (Rajgarh): The Bhopal Division girls’ team (Under-17) concluded their spectacular run in the State-Level Kho-Kho Championship as runners-up, narrowly falling to Ujjain in the final. The tournament, held in Sarangpur from October 24 to 27, saw the Bhopal squad showcase exceptional skill and dominance throughout the league phase.

Leading the charge was Soumya Nahar of St. Joseph Convent School, Eidgah Hills. Her brilliant play proved instrumental in the team’s decisive victories over Rewa, Shahdol, and Sagar in the league matches. Soumya then guided her team past the Tribal Department squad in the semi-finals to secure a spot in the championship match.

Soumya’s performance is a testament to her dedication, proven by her previous representation of Madhya Pradesh in the SGFI National Kho-Kho competition. Though they fell just short of the title, their overall achievement was lauded by Divisional officials, including Sanjay Sharma, Sharmila Barik, and District Sports Officer Babita Tomar, who extended heartfelt congratulations to the team and coach Aarti Yadav.
