Bhopal, The beautification efforts for Bhopal, ahead of the Global Investor Summit, are rapidly taking shape under the guidance of Municipal Corporation Bhopal. Vibrant trees, plants, and colorful fountains have been set up at key intersections, road verges, and walls. National flag murals and intricate artworks crafted by local artists are further enhancing the city’s appeal.
On February 17, Corporation Commissioner Harendra Narayan conducted a four-hour inspection tour from the airport to various parts of the city, including the Boat Club, Nehru Nagar, and New Market. Accompanied by officials from the Public Works Department, Traffic Police, and Municipal Corporation, Narayan evaluated the progress and instructed the swift completion of remaining works with a focus on quality.
Notable improvements include the greening of Airport Road with trees and plants, along with vibrant tricolor paintings. Narayan praised these efforts and emphasized the need for faster completion of similar works elsewhere. He also inspected the artistic paintings and fountains around Gandhi Nagar-Airport Bridge, urging completion of beautification tasks across other sites.
Narayan directed the installation of decorative pots along Airport Road, better maintenance of the area near the airport, and the beautification of shopfronts along the main road. He called for faster work on the Lalghati to Bairagarh road and enhancements to the Lake View and Selfie Points on VIP Road.
At Gauhar Mahal and Seedhighat, the Commissioner highlighted the need for further artwork and upkeep, while stressing the importance of completing maintenance and beautification at Iqbal Maidan. He also called for cleaning and painting of shops and buildings around Iqbal Maidan and completion of road repairs.
Additional instructions included improving the hawker area near Shyamala Hills, speeding up artwork and footpath beautification at the Boat Club, and enhancing the fountain at the Anthropological Museum. Lastly, Narayan urged quick completion of roadworks and debris removal at Bharat Mata Square.
