‘Rough road rebels – Bhopal dirt challenge’
Bhopal: The city is buzzing with adrenaline as the city hosts the exhilarating motorcycle dirt racing event, ‘Rough Road Rebels – Bhopal Dirt Challenge’, at Throttle Arena on Berasia Road. On Saturday, riders completed their practice rounds, setting the tone for the main competition that began on Sunday, June 15.
From early morning, the racing track echoed with the thunder of engines and clouds of dust, creating a high-energy atmosphere. The event has attracted more than 100 riders, ranging from young biking enthusiasts to experienced professionals and women participants. Competitors are divided into categories based on skill levels, making it an inclusive platform for all.
Track is challenging
Several riders described the track as “challenging” yet rewarding. Syed Akbar Ali, a seasoned biker, said the event provided a valuable opportunity for local riders. “This is a proper track where speed can be tested safely. It’s better to ride here than on city roads,” he noted.
First-time participant Zara, a young rider from Bhopal, shared her excitement. “It was my first event, and I absolutely enjoyed it. The track is tough but fun,” she said.
The organisers aim to go beyond just thrill, spreading awareness about responsible biking. “Our goal is to tell the youth that roads are not for racing—tracks are. Helmets, jackets, and safety gear are crucial,” said Saad Mohammad, Director of The Photo Company and chief organiser of the event.
Safety is a top priority. All riders are required to wear full protective gear including helmets, jackets, and guards. The venue has also seen a large turnout of spectators, for whom special seating and safety arrangements have been made.
With its mix of adventure and awareness, the event is setting a new standard for safe motorsport culture in Bhopal.
