Bhopal: Prioritizing the safe and smooth running of trains during the winter fog, the Bhopal Division, under the guidance of DRM Shri Pankaj Tyagi, has initiated a 15-day Special Safety Drive running from November 26 to December 10, 2025. All employees involved in train operations, including Loco Pilots and Assistant Loco Pilots, are actively participating.
Senior DCM Shri Saurabh Kataria highlighted that 341 Fog Safe Devices have been provisioned for passenger and freight trains. The drive involves rigorous testing of safety equipment installed on locomotives and extensive training and counseling for staff regarding rules, precautions, and safety standards for operating trains in dense fog.
To further bolster safety, detonators (Fog Signals) have been ensured at all major stations. Additionally, visibility of signals is being regularly checked using Visibility Test Objects, enabling Station Masters to promptly alert Loco Pilots to signal status and necessary warnings.
The campaign aims to enhance coordination between stations on up and down lines during foggy conditions, ensuring safe and uninterrupted rail services for passengers throughout the winter season.
