Bhopal. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office in Bhopal hosted a crucial seminar today for Chief Loco Inspectors (CLIs) to strategize on preventing Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD) incidents. The session was inaugurated and addressed by DRM Pankaj Tyagi.
= Zero tolerance for safety violations
A total of 30 CLIs from various depots, including Bhopal, Itarsi, Bina, and Guna, attended the comprehensive discussion. Detailed attention was given to analyzing the root causes of SPAD incidents across Indian Railways and reviewing current prevention efforts.
DRM Tyagi stressed the necessity of achieving zero SPAD events, emphasizing the need for effective counseling and continuous awareness campaigns for Loco Pilots. Key measures highlighted to ensure safety include:
* Strict adherence to signal aspects.
* Preventing the misuse of mobile phones while on duty.
* Ensuring adequate rest before starting shifts.
* Maintaining complete focus and vigilance during duty hours.
Senior officials, including ADRMs Abhiram Khare and Yogendra Baghel, participated, reinforcing the directive to ensure rigorous enforcement of safety rules among locomotive operating staff.
