Bhopal Division earns Rs 160 Crore in Passenger Traffic Revenue in just two months

  • Over 7 million passengers benefit from enhanced services

Bhopal: Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Mr. Devashish Tripathi, the Bhopal Division has achieved remarkable success in the first two months of the financial year 2025-26, earning a substantial passenger revenue of Rs 160 crore and 25 lakh. This revenue was generated from the travel of over 70 lakh 59 thousand passengers in both reserved and unreserved categories during April and May 2025.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Saurabh Kataria, shared that Bhopal Division’s focused efforts on enhancing passenger facilities have led to this impressive growth. Several new initiatives aimed at improving the overall travel experience have yielded positive results, with an increase in passenger numbers and a surge in revenue—clear evidence of the effectiveness of the division’s well-planned strategies.

Key efforts for increasing passenger traffic at Bhopal Division Include:

* Special Trains during Peak Times: To cater to overcrowded trains, special services were introduced.

* Extension of High-Demand Train Operations: Longer operating hours for popular trains to accommodate more passengers.

* Adding Extra Coaches: Additional coaches were added to trains to reduce waiting lists.

* Extended Trial Stops at Selected Stations: Some stations saw an increase in the duration of trial halts, providing better accessibility.

* Improved Infrastructure for Faster Travel: Accelerated infrastructure upgrades have resulted in faster trains and better punctuality.

The Bhopal Division’s continuous efforts to improve passenger services and maintain steady revenue growth will persist in the future, ensuring enhanced travel experiences and continued success.
