Bhopal, Aiming to significantly boost freight traffic and railway revenue, the Bhopal Division hosted a high-level meeting chaired by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Pankaj Tyagi. The special session brought together major freight customers, including representatives from ITC, FCI, MP Civil Supplies Corporation, and MP Power Generating Company.
New incentives for commercial transport
Using a detailed presentation, the meeting compared current and previous year’s freight data to analyze commercial transport trends. Railway officials showcased new schemes and incentive policies designed to encourage vendors to utilize the rail network for mass transportation. These programs are key to unlocking fresh opportunities for freight loading and securing the railway’s position as the preferred logistics partner.
Prioritizing quick problem resolution
Vendors openly discussed issues related to loading and transit, receiving assurance from the DRM and his team that solutions would be expedited. DRM Tyagi emphasized the continuous efforts of the Business Development Unit (BDU) to improve services. Discussions also focused on integrating new digital technologies and future strategies to further streamline freight operations based on commercial needs.
An appeal to the business community
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria appealed to the business community to make the railway their first choice for goods transport and leverage the available subsidies and enhanced facilities. The division is committed to better aligning its services with the logistical requirements of its major clients.
