Jabalpur. The single-judge bench of Justice Vishal Mishra at the Madhya Pradesh High Court has taken a serious view of the non-compliance with previous orders from both the High Court and RERA. In a contempt of court case, the court has directed Bhopal Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh to appear in person and provide an explanation. The hearing is scheduled for August 25.
The contempt petition was filed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, a resident of Gwalior. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the petitioner had sought relief from RERA regarding a property in Bhopal. RERA had ruled in his favor and issued an RRC (Revenue Recovery Certificate) for the recovery of Rs 70 lakh. The responsibility for executing this order rested with the Bhopal Collector, but the Collector failed to fulfill this duty.
The matter was then taken to the High Court, which had previously issued directives to the Collector and even summoned him, but his attitude did not change. Consequently, a contempt petition was filed, leading the court to issue the latest directives.
