- Business affected due to decrease in population of resident workers in C sector
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal,
Due to the negligence of BHEL administration, Bhagat Singh Market located in Govindpura C Sector looks like a junkyard.
A decade ago, this market used to be bustling, but due to the decline in the population of BHEL workers resident in the area, the condition of the shopkeepers who have been doing business for years is also worsening. At present there are about 100 shops in this market, most of which are closed, the shops are owned by vehicle mechanics, due to which hundreds of junked vehicles are being parked around the market for repair. Due to this, it has started looking less like a market and more like a junkyard. The shopkeepers allege that the BHEL administration is taking rent from the shopkeepers but is not providing facilities. Due to lack of cleanliness in the market, filth is spread everywhere. People face problems in transportation due to dilapidated roads.
Park is in bad shape
The park built by BHEL administration in the middle of Bhagat Singh Market has become completely dilapidated. Its boundary wall has been broken. Wild grass has grown in the park. There are neither chairs for people to sit nor pathways for walking. Earlier this park used to be busy, but now due to the decrease in the number of BHEL employees living in the nearby quarters, the park has become dilapidated.
Encroachment is being done by keeping vehicles illegally in the market. Most are mechanic shops. Shopkeepers face problems due to vehicles coming for repair being parked haphazardly.

BHEL administration takes rent from us, but is not maintaining it. Due to this the market is getting worse. The cleaning workers have not come here till date. The street light is switched off. The road has become dilapidated.
