BHEL receives prestigious Rajbhasha Kirti Award

Bhopal: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been honoured with the highest national recognition in the field of official language – the Rajbhasha Kirti Award. The award was conferred by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The recognition was presented on 14 September at the Hindi Diwas celebrations and the 5th All India Official Language Conference, held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. BHEL’s Director (Human Resources), Krishna Kumar Thakur, received the award from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

BHEL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi secured the Second Prize under the category of Central Public Sector Enterprises located in Region ‘A’ for excellence in the implementation of Hindi. Meanwhile, the Heavy Power Equipment Plant (HPEP) of BHEL in Hyderabad was awarded the First Prize for its in-house magazine under the category of Central Public Sector Enterprises located in Region ‘G’.

These accolades reflect BHEL’s continued commitment to promoting Hindi as an effective medium of official communication, while also reinforcing cultural and linguistic inclusivity across its units.

The award reaffirms BHEL’s leadership role in advancing the use of Hindi within industry and public sector enterprises nationwide.
