BHEL promotes green energy awareness among suppliers

Bhopal: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal, has launched a Suppliers’ Training and Awareness Programme on the “Use of Green Energy in Industry” to encourage sustainable practices in the manufacturing sector. The session was inaugurated by Vipul Agrawal, General Manager (Materials Management), via video conferencing.

The programme saw participation from key officials, including Shalabh Sharma, General Manager of Think Gas, Bhopal; Sameer Paul, Senior Deputy General Manager (EMT); Richa Bajpai, Senior Deputy General Manager (CRX); Deepak Kumar, Manager (FSX); and Priya Das.

In his address, Agrawal underlined BHEL’s commitment to leading by example in the transition towards a greener future. He stressed that the company is dedicated to fostering sustainability not only within its operations but also across its supply chain.

Shalabh Sharma provided insights into the industrial use of Piped Natural Gas (PNG), while Sameer Paul explained the applications and benefits of solar energy. Both highlighted the importance of adopting alternative energy sources to reduce dependence on conventional fuels.

By equipping suppliers and partners with practical knowledge of solar energy and PNG, BHEL aims to empower stakeholders to embrace cleaner technologies, reinforcing its long-standing tradition of collaborative growth and environmental responsibility.
