BHEL opens new 8-tonne slatting press machine

Bhopal: BHEL Bhopal on Monday inaugurated a new 8-tonne slatting press machine at the Press Shop Division of the Feeders Department in a simple ceremony. The machine was inaugurated in the presence of Rupesh Tailang, General Manager (Feeders, TCB–Manufacturing, Commercial and Maintenance), Ashish Aurangabadkar, General Manager (HR, MOD), and Santosh Dongre, General Manager (Feeders).

The new machine has been procured to enhance the department’s operational efficiency and overall productivity. It will significantly boost the punching manufacturing capacity for IMM and traction motors at the Press Shop. According to officials, the productivity of the new 8-tonne slatting press machine is around 40 per cent higher than that of the older machines.

All prescribed safety standards have been strictly incorporated in the operation of the machine. Several senior and middle-level officers, employees of the department and union representatives were present at the event, marking an important step towards modernisation and improved manufacturing capability at the BHEL Bhopal unit.
