BHEL Officers’ Club Opens Badminton Tourney 2026 in Bhopal

Bhopal: The much-anticipated Open Badminton Tournament 2026 was inaugurated at the BHEL Officers’ Club, Bhopal, on the evening of February 1, 2026. The five-day tournament, running from February 1 to February 5, promises a series of thrilling and highly competitive badminton matches.

The tournament features multiple categories, including Sub-Junior, Junior, Men’s, Women’s and Masters events. More than 180 players from Bhopal and neighbouring areas have registered for the competition, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for badminton in the region and giving the event an overwhelming response.

The inaugural ceremony, held at 5 pm on February 1, was graced by the chief guest, Rupesh Tailang, General Manager (Transformers and Feeders), BHEL Bhopal, and President of the BHEL Officers’ Club. Anuradha Tailang and members of the Officers’ Club were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Tailang encouraged the players to participate with true sportsmanship and dedication. He expressed hope that the tournament would nurture future champions whose photographs might one day adorn the club’s courts alongside legends of Indian badminton such as Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu.

The efforts of the club committee, particularly Ashish Gupta, Badminton Secretary, were specially appreciated for their role in organising the successful event.
