Bhopal: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal Unit, is actively conducting the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan from 17 September to 2 October, as directed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The large-scale initiative, led by the General Manager (Human Resources), is being implemented in collaboration with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
As part of the campaign, extensive cleaning was carried out at BHEL’s Gate No. 5, Ramlila Maidan, Shastri Park in A-Sector Piplani, and Vijay Market in A-Sector Barkheda. The work included removal of weeds, clearing of garbage, and systematic waste disposal.
The drive is aligned with the Government of India’s Swachhata Mission, with BHEL and the Municipal Corporation jointly conducting weekly cleanliness activities. These efforts cover public spaces across the township, supported by civil, electricity, and water supply departments, along with active public participation.
Special focus was given to street and park cleaning, proper waste management, and awareness generation through posters and banners. The campaign highlighted the importance of community involvement, emphasising that sustainable cleanliness is possible only through joint efforts of citizens, organisations, and government bodies.
The initiative aims to build a cleaner, safer, and healthier India.
