By BHEL Correspondent

Bhopal: National Productivity Week was inaugurated at BHEL, Bhopal, with Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, Executive Director, administering the productivity pledge to senior officials of the organisation. All General Managers and DRo representatives were present on the occasion.

The theme for this year’s National Productivity Week is “Clusters as Drivers of Development: Maximising Productivity in MSMEs”.

Addressing the gathering, Upadhyay emphasised that all employees must be equally encouraged to enhance productivity within the company. He stated that in an innovation-driven economy, maximising productivity in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises should be the collective goal. MSMEs, he noted, form the backbone of India’s industrial economy, contributing over 30 per cent to national GDP, 45 per cent to manufacturing output and nearly 50 per cent to total exports, while providing employment to more than 110 million people.

Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, General Manager (SOM), outlined the programmes planned for the week. The event was conducted by Harikaran Patil, Additional General Manager (ICT), and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Bhagwan Singh, Engineer (PYX).
