Bhopal: In a significant step towards promoting sustainable practices, BHEL Bhopal hosted a workshop on Sustainable Manufacturing and Green Initiatives as part of the GreenCo Rating Certification Program. The event was organized by the Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Department in collaboration with the Centre for Human Resource Development, under the guidance of Shri Sohail Khan Pathan, Consultant at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Shri Sapan Suhane, Additional General Manager & Head of the HSE Department, inaugurated the workshop, with Smt. Surekha Banchhor, Senior Deputy General Manager (HRD), also gracing the occasion.
In his address, Shri Suhane highlighted the significance of the GreenCo Rating in fostering a greener and more competitive industrial environment. He stressed the importance of the GreenCo Rating system in resource conservation and outlined the roadmap for achieving a sustainable, environmentally responsible industrial future.
The two-day workshop featured in-depth sessions on GreenCo Rating, examining key parameters and focusing on assessing “How Green is your unit.” The participants also had the opportunity to witness sustainability initiatives firsthand during a plant visit. The GreenCo Rating System, developed by CII Godrej Green Business Centre (GBC), is a pioneering global initiative aimed at enhancing organizations’ environmental performance.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Tarun Kumar Kaushik, Manager (HRD).
