BHEL honours vendors for green and sustainable practices

Bhopal: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal unit, organised a Vendor Recognition Programme recently to honour its supply chain partners for outstanding contributions towards environmentally responsible practices, sustainability initiatives and adoption of green processes.

The programme was chaired by Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, Executive Director, BHEL Bhopal, and recognised vendors who demonstrated exceptional commitment to reducing carbon footprint, optimising resources, minimising waste and promoting eco-friendly innovations. The event was organised under the guidance of Vipul Agarwal, General Manager (Materials Management), with active support from G.P. Baghel, General Manager (Quality), and Anurag Shukla, Assistant General Manager (QFD & BEX).

The initiative was undertaken by the Green Supply Chain team led by Richa Bajpai, Senior Deputy General Manager (CRX), and Deepak Kumar, Manager (FSX). The programme aligns with BHEL’s ‘Green BHEL’ vision, under which the Bhopal unit has applied for the prestigious CII GreenCo certification.

Five vendors—Bend Joints Pvt Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Jindal Steel, Mahindra Steel Service Centre Ltd and Sigma Heavy Engineering Industries (Bhopal) Pvt Ltd—were felicitated during the ceremony.
