Bhopal, — Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded the prestigious ET Government PSU Leadership & Excellence Award 2025 for two groundbreaking digital transformation projects. The awards were presented at the 7th PSU Summit held in New Delhi.
Receiving the honours on behalf of BHEL were SM Ramanathan, Director (Engineering, R&D), and Shri Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, General Manager & Head of BHEL Bhopal.
The company earned Gold Awards in two key categories:
* “Enterprise-wide Integrated Motor Management System for the Vande Bharat Project” — Gold Category: Leadership in Digital Transformation
* “Integrated Real-Time Production Management System” — Gold Category: Indigenous Production & Technology Empowerment
In recognition of the achievement, a felicitation ceremony was held at BHEL’s Bhopal Unit where Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay honoured Gautam Majumdar, General Manager (CMG, PMG, CC & DTG), Additional General Managers (DTG), and the Thermal & Hydro team members for their pivotal contributions.
Presented by The Economic Times, these awards celebrate exceptional innovation and leadership in the public sector, especially in cybersecurity and digital transformation. Selected from over 750 national entries, the awards acknowledge impactful projects that significantly enhance operational efficiency, customer responsiveness, and technological self-reliance.
