- Igniting rail excellence
BHEL Bhopal recently hosted a dynamic two-day Customer Training Programme focused on “Traction Alternators and Traction Motors: Manufacturing, Maintenance & Testing Aspects.” This specialized program, a collaborative effort between BHEL Bhopal’s Traction Sales and Centre for Human Resource Development, welcomed officials from M/s CFM, Mozambique Railways.
Akash Dani, General Manager (TPTN & CET), graced the event as Chief Guest, emphasizing BHEL Bhopal’s pride in fostering such interactive sessions. He highlighted the enduring two-decade partnership between BHEL and RITES, underscoring their global leadership in transportation with a commitment to service excellence.
The training further solidified BHEL’s robust relationship with CFM, following successful deliveries of electrics for 3000 HP and 3300 HP locomotives in 2020 and 2023, respectively. BHEL’s contributions also extend to supplying alternators and motors for BLW and a recent order from RITES for six locomotives (36 motors) for Mozambique Railways, aimed at converting WDM3A ALCO locos to Cape Gauge Diesel Electric Locomotives.
Dharmendra, Additional General Manager (TXS), extended a warm welcome, stressing the program’s role in mutual knowledge exchange and reinforcing the long-standing ties between BHEL, RITES, and CFM. S K Biswas, Additional General Manager (CEE), also encouraged participants to leverage this learning platform for professional growth and to cultivate a robust learning culture. The program featured a distinguished faculty from BHEL Bhopal, including Ervasto Jacinto Ivano (CFM Mozambique Railways), Titukshu Pareek (RITES), and several senior BHEL officials.
