Bhopal: Vishwakarma Jayanti was celebrated with great fervour at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal today. The event was graced by Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, General Manager & Head, along with all General Managers, union representatives and a large gathering of employees.
This year’s celebrations revolved around BHEL’s theme “Attacking Imports, Expanding Swadeshi – the Foundation of a Self-Reliant India.” Various manufacturing blocks of the plant showcased tableaux based on this theme.
Extending his greetings, Upadhyay wished employees and their families a Happy Vishwakarma Jayanti and emphasised that BHEL’s workforce is capable of accomplishing any challenge. He urged employees to continue working with collective zeal and commitment to achieve the year’s turnover target.
Two separate juries evaluated the tableaux and 5-S presentations. For the Product Group, judges included senior officials such as G.P. Baghel (Quality), Alok Sengar (Fabrication), T.U. Singh (HR), and P.J.M. Dixon (Finance), alongside representatives from BECNIS. The Service Group jury comprised P.C. Kandpal (Thermal & LGX), Janmejay Sharma (Finance), Sapan Suhane (HSE), and Sharad Mehrotra (EPD), among others.
Awards were announced in four categories. In the Product Group Tableau section, TGM, SWM and STM secured first, second and third prizes respectively. In the Product Group 5-S category, NTB, TGM, SWM and STM were recognised. For the Service Group Tableau, CIM, HRD, WEX and PRM won prizes, while in the Service Group 5-S category, FYM, PRM, CIM and HRD emerged winners.
The celebration concluded with appreciation for the collective efforts of all departments in upholding BHEL’s vision of self-reliance.
