Bhopal: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal, celebrated the 77th Republic Day with solemnity and enthusiasm at the Piplani Parade Ground on Monday. Executive Director Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay unfurled the national flag and received a guard of honour from CISF personnel.
A large gathering comprising senior officials, representatives of BHEL Officers’ Association (BHEKNIS), union office-bearers, club office-holders and employees attended the ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Upadhyay extended Republic Day greetings and said India had firmly established itself as a successful republic with a distinct global identity. He noted that the receipt of new orders and the visionary leadership of the Chairman and Managing Director and the Board had enabled BHEL to expand into new business domains. He emphasised BHEL Bhopal’s significant contribution to corporate achievements, attributing it to teamwork and dedication.
The programme featured award-winning tableaux, cultural performances, school parades, a CISF counter-terrorism demonstration, and the presentation of awards for excellence and 5-S practices.
