Bhawarna police arrest main heroin supplier in Kharar

Dharamshala, Dec 18 (UNI) The Bhawarna police have arrested the main supplier of Heroin (chitta) from Kharar in Chandigarh, following the earlier arrest of two youths with the contraband.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan told UNI that on Saturday, acting on a tip-off at Thakurdwara, the Bhawarna police recovered 6.55 grams of chitta from Priyan Rana (21), son of Vinod Kumar, a resident of Gadiyada village, Rajeher post office, Palampur tehsil, and Aditya (22), son of Chandrhaas, a resident of Jalehar village, Banuri post office, Palampur tehsil, both in Kangra district.

Both accused were remanded to five days’ police custody by the Palampur court. During interrogation, police traced the source of the contraband to a supplier working with a private company in Kharar, Chandigarh.

A special police team was dispatched to Chandigarh, leading to the arrest of the main accused, Ankush Kaundal (27), son of Ramesh Chand, a resident of Yol village and post office in Dharamshala tehsil, on Tuesday. Further investigation is underway, SP said.
