Bharat Mandapam to host 4 day ‘Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026’ from May 1 onwards

New Delhi, Jan 6 (UNI) Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Tuesday announced the schedule of the ‘Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026’. The event will be held from May 1 to May 4, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan) and is planned as India’s largest national trade expo.

CAIT said the Mahotsav is in line with the Prime Minister Modi’s call for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local to Global’, and aims to strengthen domestic trade while expanding India’s presence in global markets.

Sharing details, CAIT National Secretary General and Chandni Chowk BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said the current global situation, including tariffs and international conflicts, has changed trade dynamics worldwide. He said CAIT sees this as an opportunity to strengthen India’s trade capacity. As part of this effort, CAIT has launched a nationwide Indian Trade Movement, with Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav as its flagship initiative. A special video song to promote the event was also released.

Khandelwal said Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 will celebrate the Indian Common Market under the theme of ‘One Nation, One Market’, and will showcase the strength and diversity of Indian trade, manufacturing, services and entrepreneurship. He added that the event will also highlight India’s commercial traditions and cultural heritage.

According to CAIT, the Mahotsav will follow the vision of Made in India, Made for India, Made for the World, and will provide a major platform for traders, MSMEs, manufacturers, service providers, women entrepreneurs and youth entrepreneurs at national and international levels.

CAIT said the event is expected to feature over 2,000 stalls, attract more than two lakh traders, and see around 10 lakh visitors over the four days. It is also expected to lead to large-scale business deals, partnerships and investments.

The Swadeshi expo will focus on MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, artisans, startups, youth-led enterprises, cooperatives, self-help groups and traditional and heritage-based products. It will also promote export growth and import substitution.

The exhibition will cover 24 sectors and will be organised across eight zones, including business-to-business, product exhibition, investment and finance, tourism and handicrafts, education and skill development, regional food, and dedicated women and youth zones.

Key highlights of the Mahotsav will include buyer-seller meets, startup pitching platforms, on-the-spot credit support, investor meetings, product launches, export facilitation desks and policy discussions on trade reforms and ease of doing business.

Khandelwal said India’s common market is among the largest in the world, supported by digital platforms such as UPI, and needs to be further strengthened through collective efforts.

CAIT said it is also reaching out to foreign trade delegations, global buyers, investors, NRIs, international trade bodies and chambers of commerce to project India as a strong and reliable global trade partner.

CAIT said Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 will be more than an exhibition and will serve as a national trade festival, bringing together business, culture, innovation and heritage, and opening new growth opportunities for Indian businesses in India and abroad.
